Well, this should be fun. Or so Kevala thought at least. The other teachers thought she was crazy for instating a fight club among the students as a class, but Kev thought it was a great idea. Honestly, these other teachers were stupid if they genuinely thought that fighting was a bad idea, especially in this school. Perhaps, had it been another school, they might have been right. But here, well it was almost called for. At least these kids would be getting better use out of their time and they would be able to hone their fighting skills. Something that Kevala knew, from experience, was needed when attending a school such as this.
In fact, Kevala had found it to be such a good idea, that when the school had been under construction, she insisted that a special building be created just for these classes. It was nothing fancy, not by any means, but in stealing a page from her brother's book she had made sure that the walls and ceiling were reinforced to withstand extreme amounts of force. Though she didn't really want to call this the Pillar training room, because in all honesty, it was open to anyone who wished to use it to train. Limiting access to areas of the school for those lucky enough to hold a title seemed rather silly. She knew far too well that sometimes, the stronger kids were not always the ones to hold those coveted titles, but the ones who stood up against them.
So yes, this building was open to anyone. In the back, through a set of double doors was a weight room, complete with various forms of exercise equipment which one could use to work out and train. Other than that, the room that she currently sat in, was all there was.
It was a large room, equal in size to the gymnasium which was a part of the main building of the school. Only this room did not have bleachers or anything of that nature. No, instead it had four solid black walls and a black ceiling, gray concrete flooring and a single row of benches that lined the wall to the far right. The doors that led into the building were made of thick, reinforced steel and on the wall, directly to the left of where Kevala currently stood, was a control panel of sorts. A little grin on her face as she waited for the first pair to arrive.
Once the students entered, they would be hit with a shockingly cold blast of air. The temperature of the room setting easily at -2 degrees, cold enough that Kevala could see her breath as it left her lips. A small bit of fog leaving the vents as the cold air blasted into the room.
Yet despite the cold she was dressed in a pair of black yoga pants, and a white sports halter top. Her dark locks pulled back and a pair of socks adorning her feet, seeming rather comfortable, all things considered.
As for the students? Well, her instructions had been simple. They were to arrive dressed in a pair of shorts and either a t-shirt or a tank top, shoes were okay, but not required.
______________________________________________
As they entered, Kevala would input the code to seal the door, the magnetic locks closing into place. "Lesson one, overcoming and adapting to the elements. For those are the things that we cannot control in a fight, no matter how strong, or fast or smart we may think we are."
A little glance to the two students as she brushed her tongue slowly across her lips. "Rules are simple. Do not kill each other. The fight ends when one of you gives up or is knocked out." Simple as that.
"Begin."
Not moving from her spot as she waited for the pair to start. She had plenty of things in store for them, she just wasn't going to tell them what those things were.

Shane stepped into the training room, his eyes narrowing immediately as a shockingly cold blast of air hit him like a brick wall. The temperature in the room was easily below freezing, as evident by the fact Shane could see his breathe every time he exhaled. As per the Superintendent's instructions for the class, Shane was dressed in a tank top and pair of shorts, though instead of his worn down black Converse shoes, today he was wearing a pair of white Nike runners that gave him good traction but at the same time, did not hinder his movement and speed. Walking quickly to the center of the room, Shane would bounce back and forth on the balls of his feet, not only to loosen himself up, but also to keep himself warm, once his opponent had arrived and was inside, Shane would stop as the Superintendent walked up to the control panel located beside the door, and inputted a code, the reinforced steel doors sealing shut behind them. Nodding at her words and the rules, Shane would ease himself into a standard kickboxing stance, legs spaced apart evenly, his right fist held in front of his chin, and his left fist held in front of his torso. He wasn't going to make the first move, oh no, his opponent would have the honor of doing that. Though he was fighting a girl, he wasn't going to go easy on her, gender made no difference to him in a fight.

As she stepped through the door to the room, she was hit with the sudden wave of cold air, taking in a sharp inhale of breath as it washed over her otherwise warm flesh. Though it took but a moment for her body to adapt. Sure, there were still a few trembles, a few quakes of her muscles as they tried to instinctively warm her body back up to its previous temperature, but all in all, Aryann adapted. She didn't know how she managed to do this, but she had always been able to adjust to things rather quickly.
Still, dressed in a pair of white shorts and a white tank top, she found that it was harder to adapt than usual. Every step feeling a bit different due to the fact her body was racing to try and make the proper adjustments for the cold that surrounded her.
The sound of the door locking did not phase her. She didn't even turn to look back at it. Instead her eyes locked upon the teacher and for a moment, she found herself frozen in place. The woman looked....very much like Aryanna herself.....they seemed to be about the same height, and though her eyes were different, there was something familiar in them, in the way the looked over the two of them. It was similar to what Ary often saw in her own gaze when she looked in the mirror.
A bit thrown off, she had to shake her head to regain her composure. Not sure where that little bit of confusion and hesitance had come from, but quickly shooting it down and focusing instead upon the words that were spoken. She nodded, not saying anything as she moved to stand in front of the boy. She wasn't usually much a fighter, choosing to use her words and her charm instead of her fists. But, she could always use the practice.
Seeing that he wasn't going to advance first, she would pout slightly, those unique and vibrantly colored eyes looking him over as she tilted her head. "You really going to make me go first? That's not very fair....I don't even really know how to fight..." Which wasn't entirely untrue, but whatever. Her feet spreading apart just slightly to steady herself, though she didn't move. She didn't really know how to attack the situation so, she would have to think it over before she moved.

"Rule number one to become a gentleman, ladies first, as they always say. They also say all's fair in love and war."
Grinning cheerfully at his opponent, Shane highly doubted she didn't really know how to fight, if she didn't, why did she even sign up for this class of sorts anyways? It certainly wasn't to learn how to fight, as every student in the entire school knew how to fight in some way and possessed some form of fighting skills, regardless of how abstract it possibly was, this girl was no exception.
"You ready? Come at me brah!"

OOC: Due to the fact that I already have two characters involved in Fight Club, and since I had said if anyone else wished to join they could, I am going to be withdrawing Aryanna, so that Brandon can go ahead and enroll Mekky. So just a short post to explain it, ICly.
Kevala was in the midst of watching the fight when the intercom would go off on the control panel next to where she stood. A slightly irritated growl escaping her, at the fact that her class was interrupted, and she would move to press the button. "What!?" Snapping rather clearly at the person on the other end.
"I..I am sorry Mrs. Badoer, but Aryanna Katashi's mother is here to pick her up. Says it is a family emergency." Kev's brow raised slightly. She had not looked at the last name on the list, so to hear the girl was a Katashi was surprising to say the least. "Very well, send for Mekiel Echigo to come to my class and fill her spot. Now."
She would then release the button and speak up. "Ms. Katashi. Your Mother is here, so you are done. Go on....You Mr. Westley, stay put...I have another student coming to fill her spot. You don't get out of this that easy." She would then unlock the door to allow for the girl to leave. ( which she would, since this player isn't posting it in here out of laziness )....Now it was just a matter of waiting on the boy to show up.

Unicorns, and rainbows, and -- wait, no, fight club's masculine stuff, right?
Without any semblance of hesitation, I climbed into the ring thing and cracked by knuckles, but I couldn't help but sigh. The guy they'd put me up against was about a good foot shorter than me. What the hell? Couldn't they have searched for some beastly hungarian kid on campus? That would've been cool to fight a dude with a beard. This guy looked like he didn't even grow any facial hair.
"Get ready brosef, I ain't gonna go easy on you."
I popped my neck and started bouncing around on the balls of my heels so that when I would strike, there wouldn't be any sudden, predictable movements. Everything would kind of flow, and if I got in close the guy wouldn't even know what hit him. Time to showcase why exactly they call me the Iron Dragon, baby.

Ooookay then... so Aryanna wasn't going to come at him.
Shane would just stare blankly at her, and then over at the Superintendent as she moved to the intercom beside her, snapping at the person on the other end, it seemed Aryanna's mother had come to pick her up because of a family emergency. Straightening up, Shane would scratch the back of his head, looks he wasn't going to be fighting Aryanna Katashi , but Mekiel Echigo now.
Staring rather blankly at Mrs. Badoer, of course he was going to stay put, did she think he was going to bolt just because his opponent was leaving? Watching her unlock the door, Aryanna leaving soon after, Shane would bounce around on the balls of his feet, once more warming himself up as he waited for his replacement opponent to arrive, which didn't take too long, as the guy, Mekiel, made his grand entrance.
"I'm ready, you ready? Come at me bro!"
Shane replied, continuing to bounce on the balls of his feet, noting Mekiel doing the exact same thing, though probably for a different reason. His right fist held in front of his chin, his left fist held in front of his torso, except for the bouncing back and forth, he was in a pretty standard kickboxing stance. Let's see if the Iron Dragon could catch Shane.

This guy seems overly anxious. I like him already. A grin comes to my face and I take two steps forward, my right side closer to my opponent. My forearms are kept about neck level, since the guy was kind of short. I've learned not to let size speak for the fighter, and if his ego implied anything, this guy might be able to hold his own. I gotta gauge him before I do anything else, or I'm down and out.
My right arm is pulled back as though I were about to bring it back around in a hook, but I use the clockwise turn to instead bring my left leg around in a roundhouse aimed for the guy's thigh. It's a pretty low kick for me, but if I get him there, it'd result in a dead leg and the match is as good as won from the start. Better hope this guy can move.

Grinning back cheerfully at Mekiel, Shane had to hand to the guy, not only was he tall, a good few inches taller than Shane, he was a pretty fast bugger too... but not as fast as Shane was. Not falling for the predictable feint, Shane would duck down and shift his right arm ever so slightly to the right as the kick collided with his arm, if he hadn't been focusing solely on Mekiel, he probably would've gotten kicked real good in the thigh.
Damn that hurt, but eating the pain, Shane would then duck down and sticking his left leg out, would sweep it to the right and attempt to sweep Mekiel's remaining leg out from under him, as he was balancing on only one leg. If he succeeded, Shane would then drive himself backwards, putting a bit of distance between him and Mekiel, going back into his stance once again.
Mekiel was strong, that much was obvious to Shane after taking the kick, but he was rather slow and very predictable with his moves. Shane just needed to be patient, wear Mekiel down, and he might be able to outlast and take down the guy.

A decent reaction. Honestly, from my past encounters in New York I was expecting some sort of a speed demon from a little guy like this, but he didn't seem comparable to Valo in that regard. Still, he clearly wasn't a blubbering idiot, that much could be established. Although, he could've opted for a better attack.
I had muscle mass on the guy, and extremely well developed calves. Put my weight into account on top of that? Ain't no why he'd be able to sweep my leg out from under me. Although, I would have to give him a bit of credit, since my leg buckled a smidgeon. I don't think it was the outcome he desired, but I didn't like it too much either.
As he drew back, my left leg came back to the ground and my right foot crossed over behind it, and once more I'd shoot out my left foot, aiming a power side kick (a side kick with an extra step, pretty much) to his torso. If the guy's faster than me, I can't let him have many openings at all.

Well Shane wasn't able to send Mekiel tumbling to the ground, but he did manage to make the guy's leg buckle, just a smidgen. Oh well, it was worth a shot though. Pulling back anyways, as Mekiel's left leg shoot out once more, a power side kick aiming for Shane's torso, he would simply duck underneath the leg and dart towards Mekiel while he was still recovering from the kick, keeping his speed controlled and allowing him to stop or turn on the dime if needed.
Once he was in striking range, he'd pull his left arm back, making it appear he was going for a simple left jab to Mekiel's ribs, only to switch at the last minute and step to the right and around slightly, aiming a right jab for Mekiel's left kidney.

Okay, maybe he's a little faster than he seemed at first. Still no Sky Dragon.
My foot met nothing, and soon retreated back to the ground as the guy started running around, and I saw his left arm pull back. Now, if he were to strike me, it'd be the torso, since he couldn't reach my face, and so this was my chance. Especially when I'd seen that he'd feigned the left jab. I turned my body to my left so his fist would instead meet my rock hard abdomen, and my right arm would extend, aiming to wrap itself around his side. Meanwhile, my left arm would shoot out for the guy's upper arm, aiming to get a good hold on him.
My goal was simple: Get a hold on his left side, as well as his left arm, and keep him where I could grapple him.

Kevala had stayed out of this for the most part. She was more intent on watching them fight it out, observing from a distance. It was safer for her, no risk of her losing her temper, and to top it off, she got to gain a bit of amusement from watching them pound away on each other....or at least try to.
Though these two looked more like a series of hit and misses than anything. A little yawn passing her lips as she turned her attention away from them and toward the control panel she still stood beside. One hand raising so that her index finger could lightly tap against her lower lip as if debating upon something. Which of course, she was. She had not planned on this course being easy, not in the slightest....hence the below freezing temperature that she currently had the room set at.
But, the problem with that, was that after so long, the body would begin to adjust on its own, not to mention their fighting and series of furious movements would help in making sure their blood flow remained steady enough to prevent them from getting too lethargic. So,once she was sure that the cold itself was no longer posing enough of an issue, she decided it was time to up the game just a tad.
Those icy hues scanning over the various buttons that laid out before her, not quite sure which one would be the best in this situation, and finally, a little grin tugging upon her lips as an idea came to mind. Working her finger in a circular fashion, just to be a bit playful in her movements, she moved in and pressed one of the many black buttons that were held within the control panel.
Above their heads, small sections of the ceiling would begin to move and shift out of place, a series of sprinklers lowering in their place. No sooner had they settled into place than they would activate, water gushing from within them and onto the floor below. Not an inch of the room left untouched, including the area in which Kevala currently stood. Thanks to the temperature of the room, the water itself felt like thousands of tiny knives pricking at the skin, causing her to shiver slightly as she fought back a little purr, her hair quickly becoming plastered to her face and shoulders.
Now, not only was it becoming colder in the room, but there was a new sensation for their body to adjust to, as well as new hiccups thrown into their grappling techniques. Oh, and the floor was becoming very slick....thankfully, there were drain holes installed to prevent too much build up, but there was still enough to cause their footing to become unstable if they were not careful. "Gotta hate those sudden rainstorms in the bitter cold of winter, don't you?" She chuckled softly, her breath continuing to leave her lips in a cloud of white smoke and the color of her flesh paling just slightly as the cold began to set in....yet, for the most part, she remained unphased. Years of teaching herself to handle such things having paid off in the best ways....

His fist colliding with Mekiel's rock hard abs, it had hurt, but eating the pain, Shane would immediately retract his arm back. Seeing Mekiel's right arm shoot out for his side, while his left arm shot out for his upper arm, Shane would literally dance and weave his way through the tangle of arms, his body having gotten used to the low temperature, while Mekiel was probably still trying to get used to it, moving backwards once more.
It's probably inevitable to call Shane a dodge master, given how much he's been evading, but that was the point, he was trying to wear Mekiel down as much as he possibly could. By now, he felt comfortable in the low temperatures, despite wearing just a tank top and shorts, due to the constant motion his body had been in. That all changed however, as the sound of the ceiling tiles above him began shifting, followed by sprinklers lowering and like the heavens themselves had opened up, water came pouring down on them.
And I'm not talking about your spring day drizzle, more like Malaysia daytime thunderstorm downpour, and thanks to the low temperature of the room, the water felt like thousands of tiny knives pricking at his skin, that's freezing rain for you. Shane shivering slightly as his clothes were instantly drenched and stuck to his skin, his normally spiky hair fell down flat, though thankfully not into his eyes and blocking his vision.
Not only that, but the floor had become much slicker, not that it affected Shane too much, he had been keeping his speed controlled the entire time, and had adjusted to not running at full speed, meaning his footing was a bit more stable.
"It does make for having a cup of hot chocolate all the more better though, Mrs. Badoer!"
Shane called out cheerfully, a bit of distance between him and Mekiel, once more bouncing back and forth on the balls of his feet while doing a bit of air boxing, simply to keep his arms and legs from cramping up from the water and low temperature.
"Come at me bro!"
Again.

So, the guy got away. Regardless, I refused to let this rustle my jimmies. There wasn't much of a chance of him wearing me out, since I was about twice his size. As far as I was aware I could take a beating and keep on going - one of the reasons for my title. So, when he got away I just chuckled.
And then came the sprinkling. The cold "rain." For a moment, I stopped. It forced me to think back to times I didn't want to remember: my childhood, Valor, Verdugo... those kinds of things. But if there's anything those reminded me of, it was that I wouldn't have to worry too much about the sudden change in the "weather", especially after the sort of conditioning Valor and Verdugo had put me through. Yeah, it was cold, but I'm a big boy who's gone through a few outlandish situations.
My hands came to the collar off my shirt and I ripped it from my torso to show my amazingly built body and pulled my hair back and out of my face, tying it with the cloth from the shirt. I didn't want any sort of visual impairment, now.
"I'm starting to wonder if you know how to throw a proper punch."
Taunting? Nah, not exactly. That's not really my style. I was just making friendly conversation with an interesting opponent who has yet to do any real damage to me. He seemed like the "do small amounts of damage over and over" kind of guy, instead of my kind of fighter. It was a bit of an issue, but it wasn't something I couldn't adapt to.
Two steps forward, slow, and my body sort of low to the ground; enough for me to be eye level with him. I was in a crouch now, just taking a moderate approach. I could initiate things again and let him slip away, or I could do things how I do them best. I'd opt for the latter.
"You won't even know what hit you."
