As the lay there after the fact Patrick found himself perfectly content. He was happy with the moment, with the way that things had transpired, true as unpredictable as it had been, seeing the picture as it was now, he wouldn't have had the night any other way. Instead of dying, as was the original plan he had not only found Kazumi to be very much alive, but also now was her boyfriend. A very good night indeed, according to just about anyone's standards, his own included. As she nuzzled into him Patrick wrapped his arm around her once again, words not exchanged as everything that needed to be said had been at this point
His breathing calmed, slowing with hers as he felt her slowly nodding off. Patrick sighed, contently at this point. He was fine with everything that had happened. As she drifted off into slumber, however he would stay awake this time. Though that wasn't such a bad thing as he looked to the beautiful girl sleeping next to him.
As time passed on though, he would begin to think about the dream he had earlier. The one that had been so vastly different from the other dreams he had had the past few years. He was used to watching Zea die in his dreams, but never had he, the form the dreamer was taking been the one to shoot her, though his mirror had. Never before had he had anyone else, who had not been there in that dream. Nor had he ever killed Kazumi, obviously, but he had never taken the form of the direct villian, or had he? All this made him think. What did any of this mean? Did it mean that like he killed Zea, he'd kill Kazumi too? That seemed the simple answer but still. Didn't dreams have no meaning then what your subconscious put into them? All the same, the outcome of the dream seemed too likely.
There was a period of time, lasting longer then Patrick would have liked, where he had considered leaving again. Either running or pushing her away. He didn't want her to die too, figuring that even ending a relationship on bad terms was far better then ending it on an unresolved death, especially if it was his own fault. But ultimately Patrick would decide to stay, for her. It was her after all who had said she knew the possible consequences. Hell, she had even faced death, in an actual way. That too played a factor in it, Patrick knew that if he pushed her away he couldn't defend her. Having been in the public school system so long he knew that something was bound to happen, where proximity to her would be far more valuable then trying to defend from afar. In addition to all that, and perhaps most importantly Patrick had given her his word. That he wouldn't run again. That he'd be there to help her through the aftermath of everything. Patrick gave a small, quiet sigh of relief as he lay there with his arm around her, mind made...
