**NOTE** This is a turn based thread, as usual, though I will be posting as well, so you must wait for me to post before you can continue. You know how that goes. One admin post to one student post, etc etc. Person with the most valid attacks at the end of three rounds will be determined the winner. Should there be a tie, for whatever reason, the admin will choose the tie breaker challenge. Good luck!
Challenge Began: May 12, 2012
Also, on a side note. Spectators are allowed, though they are not subject to the posting order, meaning that they can and likely will be skipped. Also, they are not, by any means, allowed to step in or become involved in any way. Failure to abide by these rules will result in a penalty.
Yet another pillar challenge that she was being forced to oversee. She usually didn't mind, and would have seen over them all, but the fact that her daughter had been participating in one, she had felt that it was best to sit that one out. Not to mention, that little shit Mr. Warden owed her one for setting off fireworks in her office. The thought still making her growl mentally and desire nothing more than to throw something at him.
But, in her odd way, she could see herself finding a bit of respect for him, though that would be something that would take time and effort on his part. Liking him however, well that was entirely different and less likely to occur.
Either way, here they were, in the gymnasium, apparently a favorite challenging ground for these students when it came to trying to obtain a Pillar Position. Not that she really minded, it was indoors, provided her a place to sit around and be lazy in, and allowed for other students to join in and watch the going on's with vivid interest. They all wanted to know who would be winning and who would be the pillar they were forced to watch out for, not that Kevala wouldn't be posting up names on the school bulletin board once all this was said and done. But no matter.
"Ira, vous étiez le premier à remettre en question, et donc que vous étiez en mesure de choisir le type de lutte que ce serait. Vous avez choisi une compétition d'escrime. Par conséquent, je ne pense pas que j'ai besoin d'expliquer les règles à vous, s'il vous plaît ne vient essayer de les respecter."[Ira, you were the first to challenge, and therefore you were able to choose the type of fight this would be. You have chosen a fencing competition. Therefore, I do not feel that I need to explain the rules to you, just please do try and abide by them. ]
She would glance toward her niece, though not by blood, the girl was family just the same, even if she didn't like Kevala any more than her Mother did. Not surprising at all. Though with a little nod given, she would turn back toward Shane, who after losing the School Captains bout, had asked for a shot at this title. She had to admit, he was a stubborn little shit, but she was not sure how far that would prove to get him. "As I was explaining to Ms. Seran. She was the first to issue this challenge and therefore was able to choose the type. She has chosen fencing. As you can see, the appropriate gear has been laid out, and the gym has been set to accommodate a proper fencing match. The rules are as follows.
When the referee issues the command En garde you will approach the center of the mat, to your starting points. When the referee says allez the match begins. The entire match will consist of three rounds, each being three minutes in length with one minute intervals in between.
You will cease when you hear the referee speak the word halt at which point you will lower your epee and return to starting positions.
You are required to wear a white outfit, which includes a mesh mask, gloves and a plastron. The plastron has been wired to keep score of successful attacks. The winner will be the person to obtain the most hits within the three rounds."
She took a deep breath, a glance toward Ira, though as she had said, she didn't feel that she had to explain the rules, the girl's parents had made sure she was well trained in the sport.
"Fouls include stepping off the mat, using your free hand to attack or defend, or ignoring the referee's commands. This means, if your opponent drops his or her epee and the referee says halt and you refuse to do so, then this shall be deemed a foul."
Another small pause, making sure that both were up to speed before issuing the last rules of the competition.
"You must score hits by hitting your opponent anywhere between the shoulder line and the groin area. Hits anywhere else on the body will not count. Now, both of you go and get ready to start."
She would then take a step back. She herself was not the ref of this match, but had made sure to have a professional brought in, just to make sure all was done right. She would allow them to get ready and find their marks, before she would summon forth the referee to start. [/font]
