It was just another day at home. Just the thought made Kazumi smile. For the first time in months, hell, for the first time since leaving Italy, Kazumi actually felt like she was home....Sure, she had lived in a couple houses with her parents and brothers since moving to the states, but with all the tension between herself and her brothers, and now, with them gone, those places had never felt like home. At least not in the way that Kazumi viewed it.
But this, well this house sure as hell felt like the home she had been lacking all this time. No, it wasn't the house itself, though it was a rather nice, quaint little one bedroom house. It was instead Patrick and the fact that he lived there with her. Having him in bed with her each night, or there to curl up with on the couch....well that made all the difference in the world. It was no big secret to anyone at this point that she was in love with the guy, and with Feht being beat back more and more, things were actually going amazingly well.
When she had woken up on that street after being locked away in that room for three months, she had thought that she would never again be able to feel happiness, at least not to this degree...yet here she was, happier than she had been in a long time. No, that was a lie. She was in fact happier than she had ever been in her life.
A little content sigh passing her lips as she made her way through the bedroom, picking up the random bits of laundry that had been left thrown about from the night before and making the bed. She had always been a bit of a neat freak, even when she was younger, but now, well now she actually had a reason to be that way.
Patrick was out, well, not so much out as in he had gone to school. She knew that she should have, but when she had woken up this morning she had felt way too nauseous to even think about getting dressed and going in. It wasn't uncommon, at least not lately, but the big difference today had been that it was worse than all the other mornings from the previous couple of weeks. So yeah, she had told him that she was feeling a bit under the weather and then kissed him goodbye and crawled back into bed until the nausea had passed.
She didn't have a clue what was wrong with her.....Well, okay, she had a pretty good idea, but it was one of those things were she was playing it off as not knowing...One, because it was easier and it didn't mess up anything in her life.....Two, because she was scared to death to confirm what her mind pretty much knew to be true.
Scared because it was not something she had planned or expected and because of the fact that she knew Patrick wasn't likely to be too happy about it. The last thing she wanted was a reason for him to walk out. Gods how that would kill her.
Catching herself thinking about it, she shook her head, carrying the clothes she had gathered up into the bathroom and tossing them into the dirty clothes. A little whistle starting before she would quickly clamp her hand down over her mouth. Ever since Feht had started to fuse back with the rest of her mind, that stupid tune had been echoing through her mind...the very one that Earth had always been humming or whistling every time he came to her "room."
Slightly she would shake her head as her hand fell away, a little sigh passing her lips as she made her way down the hallway and toward the living room. Though, as she entered, there would be a knock at the door, her brow arching slightly as she moved toward it. She had not been expecting anyone, and usually those who knew where she lived, which was pretty much her family, and thats it, called.....
Reluctantly she would pull back the panel next to the door, exposing the small monitor that showed her the front steps...She hated all things electronic still, so looking at the small black and white screen was almost torture for her. Those blue eyes quickly glancing over the screen, it didn't take her long to make out the figure standing there....
Edward...
A familiar voice echoing in her mind. It still surprised her when that happened, seeing as how it didn't happen often...But then Feht was still not fully fused back with her. She supposed in time it would increase back to what it had been before Earth had ever gotten his hands on her.
Catching her mind wandering, she would grumble to herself and close the panel, moving to punch in her pin code to open up the door. She may not have liked Edward, but he still came around from time to time...Though in her rush to avoid looking at the screen, she had not noticed the other figure that had been looming behind her personal security guard....A figure she did not know, at all.
As she pulled open the door, her hands tugged down her t-shirt that covered her, torso....the only other thing on being a pair of small black shorts. Only then, when her eyes lifted to look at Edward, did she notice the man that stood behind him, and instantly something in her gut twisted. Call it intuition or something...but whatever it was, it was telling her to just shut the door and set the alarms once more. "You are not supposed to be here Edward, not when I am alone. Come back later if you need to fix something." He was the head of electronics and the one who set up this whole house on a security grid, so it wasn't uncommon for him to drop by to fix things from time to time. But Kevala had made it clear that he wasn't to be alone with her, not after what Kaz had told her about the man.
Casting a rather uncertain glance to the man behind him, she would say nothing more, moving to shut the door to try and seal them out. Though just as she did, a sudden force kicked the door back open, directly into her, instantly causing her lip to split and blood to slide down her chin as she stumbled back, ass landing hard against the carpeted floor. "Not this time Kazumi. We need to have a little talk."
Edward stepping inside, dressed in his usual suit. His presence looming over her and causing her to crawl backwards, those eyes locked on him as she shook her head. "No! Get out of here before I call my Mother!"
Cut short of issuing another series of threats as he came forward, bending down and his large hand backhanding her across the face, her head snapping to the side as the pain slid through her, hair falling across her face.
Fuck, this was not good. Not good at all. Quickly she tried to get away, slamming her foot into his knee and then turning over to crawl away before scrambling to her feet once more....For now losing track of where the other guy had gone, and not even thinking about him at this point.
