Alright, so this morning, I have been going through everyone's stats. EVERYONE'S, because when I said that I wasn't going to allow for stat cheating, I meant it. Now, I find myself faced with a question that I pose to EVERYONE on the board. I will, as always take into account everyone's opinion on the matter, though I am afraid that I will have to take into consideration that those of you called into question will be a bit biased. Not of your own fault, Gods know I would be.

The Problem: Those of you that have transferred in from 552 and that other 552 board that was created at one point have provided links to your stat gains, but those links are broken. I CANNOT in any way verify that these are true stat gains. Now, is this to say that I do not trust you guys? No, not at all. If that were the case I would have simply denied you approval to start and would have checked every single link that day. (So in short I am admitting to this being as much my fault as anyone's.)

• Patrick O'Connor
  
• Mekiel Echigo
  
• Two new guys who's names I am too lazy to go look up atm

(Keep in mind this list could change throughout the day as I go through more stats.)

My Question to You: To be fair to EVERYONE on the board, should those who cannot give SOLID proof of their threads be allowed to count those as transfers? I understand that it is beyond our control if a board is pulled down, but does that mean that it is right for staff to just assume that those stats are valid? I don't know, hence the discussion.

Solutions Available:

• Option A: To go through and for every thread that you cannot SHOW me, force those of you to reduce your transfer stats to even things out and make everything simple and easy.
  
  
• Option B: Allow those of you who have been approved thus far to keep your stats, though impose a higher post count on you before you are able to break free of the transfer group.
  
  
• Option C: Allow those of you who have been approved to keep your stats, and simply put up a note that says "From this point out, nobody with broken links to threads will be able to claim those as transfers."

I am leaving this discussion up for one week. Though I know this is a touchy subject for some and so I will warn you ahead of time. Should this discussion get out of hand, or should I receive any form of grief over ANYTHING that I have typed here today, you will be warned and if the problem persists, an IP Ban will be issued...

I have been dealing with a lot of condescending comments as of late as to my ability to perform my tasks as admin and I WILL NOT tolerate it any more. You are all my friends, and I luff you guys very much, but that doesn't give anyone the right to talk down to me, grief me, or insult me for any reason what so ever. Same goes for anyone else who posts their opinions in this thread.

With #552 being down we don't have any way to link our previous threads, so we don't have solid proof of our stats. Though, that's not to say we're blatantly lying about it.

I'm personally okay with option B, because with what stats we are allowed to transfer, we won't be getting ahead of the non-transfer students any time soon, which seems to be one issue that could stem from this.

I'll probably have more to say when I'm not so damn tired.

There is already a brick limit on transfers, their transfer shizz is already pretty high by comparison, option B seems fair to me with one consideration in mind. Someone from 552 should confirm. I figured Patrick is the resident big-boy from 552 that I know for sure has been there, Mekky was there on and off. Each of them have backups on other boards as well so I'm not concerned about them. I'd say the other ones you may need to have someone back up their story. Personally more of my concern is you're taking stats from another character and basically taking up an entirely new character. It kinda pisses me off when people do that its like you're too lazy to take up a new character at a higher value with extra stats. but yeah blah Option B with considerations.

On every other board I made Mekky on, I directly transferred from #552. I don't have any fight logs or anything left, because I think, in total, on every board but #552 I may have done three fights? If that. And no after hours/classes/quests. I can't prove much either; all I can do is say everywhere Mekky's been he's had his stats transferred directly.

I can say who I saw on there, but stat vouching isn't necessarily easy with no records. On top of that, I was an oldbie there, but I had a few absences and missed a few pop-ups and drop-outs, and some people left before I joined.

Personally, I don't see the advantage in lying about it, because while you start out with potentially doubled stats, you still have restrictions and miss out on exp and money that those who didn't transfer would get. Sure, you start off like a hunk, but in the long run I'm expecting that the transfers and people who didn't transfer would end up around the same stat-wise anyway. Unless they postwhore, but yeah.

From what I gathered, Ryan isn't saying that you need somebody to say "Oh yes they fought in all those threads and earned that stuff." He is simply saying that for example Pat was on there, a lot, and so would know if a character was super active or not....thereby being able to simply verify that that character was there and that it was active. That's it.

Which, means that he is also suggesting that if nobody could verify that they ever saw a certain character on that board then well, there is a chance that character never existed and that a person is simply creating a character and using old stats from another character that existed on that board in order to bulk them up.

Now, I am simply trying to make sure that I understand what Ryan's point was, and not saying that I agree or disagree with anything anyone has said. So I just want to make that clear.

As for why it would be an issue as to a person making a new character with another characters stats? Well I can see that pretty easily actually. You create a character, it doesnt turn out like you want, and then when you get the chance you make a new one and transfer the stats that cant be proved. Its happened in the past and its not so much because of the whole "oh they just want to be ahead of everyone else" thing, it simply because people dont like cheaters.

But that said, I am not saying that anyone is lying. I never said I thought anyone was lying. I am simply stating that such a thought could be taken into consideration some time in the future by some other member and then we end up right back where we are now only with a lot more story and depth behind these characters, making it MUCH harder to muddle through all the mess. That is the ONLY reason that I wished to address this now instead of later down the road.

This is not a personal attack against any one person, character or whatever. Just a simple statement of fact and a simple request for some form input from you guys. Nothing more, nothing less.

I understand that it's incredibly frustrating when someone makes a character and the links to the EXP earned are broken, simply because the board they earned the EXP was deleted, and staff can't be sure if it's legit or not. The only reason I even have the links Ryu's EXP was earned from was because I had saved it in a Word document before the boards were deleted by Proboards on the off-chance I got another chance to play him again, because it had been dead for so long.

That being said, I'll go with Option B, because I am good with whatever you guys go with, whether it be taking Ryu down to the same starting base as non-transfers, or raising the amount of posts needed before he can get out of Transfer status.

Alright, for now I am going to go ahead and leave the transfers as they are. Though I will be updating the rules concerning any new transfers that come in once I have gone over everything discussed here with other staff members. So it should be noted, that if you bring in a transfer between now and the time that I get the rules updated, there may be a delay in your approval.
