Okay so due to the way things have been going and things I have been told from others, I am going to instate Qi but not until we have a few things cleared up by the active members of this board. So, here is what I have so far and here is what I need a little help deciding on.....Discuss away....
- No ranged Qi's. This means that all Qi's would be as they are supposed to be, something that comes from within a person's body and in restricted to their body. This makes the most sense due to the fact that Qi comes from a person's energy and therefore is not something you can just go tossing around.
--Example: Fire Qi: You would be able to set your hands on fire, your body on fire, whatever, but you cannot throw fireballs or shoot fire at somebody like a flamethrower. - No stat gains. This is because I am not going to instate Qi for there to be stat boosts or leveling ups or anything like that. It is for plot purposes and nothing more.
- Every Qi will have a limit on the number of posts in which it can be used during a fight (anywhere from 3-5). For plot purposes, its free reign as long as the other person in the thread is okay with it. So say that you and another person are in a fight with some NPC's you guys created...its no stat bonus for you to fight them, so by all means, if both participants are okay with it, then use it to your hearts content.
- Now here is where I need you guys to help me out. It has been suggested that perhaps some Qi's are invasive and therefore OP or metagaming, etc. For example, if a character has the ability to touch you and instantly know what you are most afraid of. Now, in my opinion, MOST Qi's fall into that category but that is why I am leaving this one open for discussion. So:
Option A) Qi will be limited to your body and cannot be invasive into another person's mind/body.
Option B) If you have a Qi that is invasive upon another person's mind/body then it results in harsh side effects upon you character. So it makes it just as much a pain in the ass as a benefit. - All Qi must be gained through IC means.
- All Qi must be approved through staff before you can use it. You would be allowed to PM a mod with your suggestion and from there they would be able to place needed restrictions on it and so forth or to tell you if it is too OP or whatever. The only other option here is to have staff pick your Qi for you, that way your character would really have to work to learn it, to use it, to understand it and it would provide a lot of character development.
- It should be noted that the reason I am considering this is because honestly, with activity at the rate it has been, I feel that there needs to be something to spur a bit of muse in people. This seems like a good place to start and if it doesn't work out well then we can always be rid of it. I am not ignoring those of you who did not want it, and if you do not want a Qi that is entirely up to you. I am simply doing what I think is best for the board at this point in time. So if you do choose NOT to have one, then by default you will not be allowed to be attacked by a Qi during a fight.
