Azura sat nearby, listening and watching from her chosen spot in the shadows as Pheonix went about trying to lure the Superintendent into a trap. Not choosing to interrupt but instead stay at a distance and simply observe. She had never seen Pheonix at work and was curious to see how she would try and go about this most tricky of tasks.
Based on her research, she had already concluded that Mrs. Badoer would be the hardest target to get a hold of, hence why she was a bit uncertain about Pheonix being the one to take her on. It was not that she though that the girl was incapable, it was simply that she knew how secluded Pheonix had been from the world, giving her a childlike view of things and a very short temper it would seem. She worried that her cover would be blown before she ever got out of the starting gate, and that would prve bad for all of them.
As expected though, the Superintendent proved to be elusive and rather skeptical of the words which Pheonix was saying. Though Azura's attention on the matter would become instantly lost when the man appeared with the small infant in tow. A light gasp issued as her hand shot up to cover her lips, stifling back the sound so as not to be discovered.
Hazel eyes would settle upon the child as Azura slowly and silently made her way through the darkness toward the group in order to get a better look. Once she drew close enough, she would take up hiding behind one of the crates that had been stacked there, peering out from behind it so that she could look upon the red headed infant with a look of amazement and wonder. One, she had never been this close to an infant before, having never been allowed to view the ones brought into the facility and two, she could feel this one's life force...which could mean only one thing. This child was Legion's daughter.
Azura had never seen her in person, only through grainy surveillance footage and photographs that were printed in black and white. In fact, if not for the fact that she could feel her life force, which was possible thanks to that bond she shared with Legion, she would not have been able to tell who she was or who her parents were.
Eyes locked upon the infant, she would feel her heart swelling with a mixture of emotions. Sadness, regret, sorrow and pain...mixing with excitement, happiness, amazement, and awe....She felt all the negative because of the fact that she was the reason that Legion was not with that beautiful little girl right this moment, the reason that he no longer remembered her. Yet she could not deny how happy and amazed she was being this close to the child. Azura had always wanted to see a child, to be near a baby and this was the closest she had ever come. She was awestruck at how incredibly small and innocent the baby was, how utterly beautiful. She had her Father's hair and his eyes, despite the color being much like that of the woman who currently held her.
She also had his energy, the same vibe coming from her that Azura felt from him, only not nearly as strong.
Biting her lower lip, she would feel the sting of tears within her eyes...so completely taken aback from the sight and wanting nothing more than to step forward and ask to hold the infant. To cradle her and lull her to sleep. But she could not, she knew as much and would finally tear herself away from the spot in which she stood as to avoid being found out. Regret consuming her the instant she did.
As the negative emotions began to consume her heart, to weigh down her soul, she would feel Legion becoming anxious and knew that he had begun to pace within his cell. He thought her to be hurt by somebody no doubt, the emotions similar to those that one would feel if being harmed by another person. He was angry, his darkness consuming him and compelling him to kill, to paint the walls with blood.
Quickly her hand shot to her chest, rubbing the center of it as she felt her own heart darkening and those negative emotions beginning to surface and swallow her whole. A light shake of her head as she slipped from the shadows and back into the light, seeking it out to try and use it to wash away some of the bad. She could not go home yet, she still had something she needed to attend to...her determination strong as she turned to head back to the main area of the carnival, eyes scanning the crowd for her target.
Azura was about to ruin somebody's night....She just had to find them first.
