How long had it been since Father had died?
How long, since they had come to her room and told her that their was a new mission she had to take on?
It felt like years, and yet she knew that in reality it had only been about six months, give or take a couple. She honestly didn't know the exact amount of time, because well...when you could not die, and when you lived most of your life contained in a box (for lack of a better term) you found that time had no baring on you and you tended to lose track of it.
At this point, Azura couldn't even tell you how old she was, how many years, exactly, that she had been at The Facility, or even how long she had truly known Raven or any of the other experiments that she had grown up around. A fact that both concerned her, and at the very same time, escaped her most of the time.
It wasn't that she didn't want to...It was just that time had always been something that was lost on her...Ever since she was a little girl, she had never really known about such things as keeping time, and therefore, it just didn't occur to her half the time. But then, there were a lot of things like that which she did not think about, simply because she had never had them as part of her life.
Such was the case when you were raised as nothing more than a number. Nothing more than an experiment for people to poke and prod at with needles and various drugs. Hard to think and act human, when you were treated as anything but.
Still, tonight was one of those rare nights where she found herself contemplating that elusive thing known as time. Sitting alone in the courtyard of the school, staring up at the very building she was supposed to be working to destroy. Well, perhaps not in the physical sense, but she was supposed to be working to, at the very least, tear down what it stood for, to break apart everything it respresented.
Yet somewhere along the way, she had gotten sidetracked. Her. Experiment 1511. The one that never, ever got sidetracked from a mission. The one who was the best at what she did because of the very fact that she never let anything get in her way.
How it had happened...she wasn't sure. When she got here, all she had wanted was to complete the mission and destroy everything around her...to do what she was told to do, and in the process earn her and Raven their freedom.
Now....well now she wasn't sure what she wanted anymore.
Part of her wanted to believe there for awhile, that she wanted to try and fit in. That maybe, just maybe she could be just like everyone else, prove Father wrong, and become a normal, average, everyday student. She had even gotten distracted enough to develop a crush on a boy. The very thought making her shake her head now as she sighed and slouched down against the fountain, her butt planted firmly in the cool grass below.
What was wrong with her!? Did she really think that she could ever get the attention of some boy? Did she really think that she could ever be looked at as anything but some sort of freak?
The answer....sadly...had been yes.
But things were changing, hell...a lot already had. And as her hazel eyes ran along the dark figure of the school before her, she found herself debating on what path she wanted to take now...because whatever one she was currently walking, was leading to nowhere fast....and that...for her...was just unacceptable.
