Halloween. One of the most fun times of the year. A time for trick or treating, dressing up in costumes and just all around having a good time. Not to mention the fact that Halloween also fell just a few days after a certain Superintendent's birthday. Not that Kevala really understood the concept of birthdays, much less celebrated them. (Especially not her own.) But over the years, she had learned that people tended to enjoy celebrations. Of course, in her mind it was just some insanely retarded tradition that normal people did to try and make themselves feel better about growing older. But whatever, she really was past the point of caring anymore.
With her family in shambles, her mind a twisted mess of "Do I behave like I am supposed to or do I behave like I want to?" Because lets face it, she didn't behave because she liked it, because it was what she wanted, because it was the right thing to do. She behaved because she had a family, she had Mischa, and that was enough to at least keep her from killing on a regular basis. She knew that she had probably fucked up beyond repair with her little "trysts" over the past few months, but that didn't stop her from missing her wife anymore than she did currently. Hell, if anything, it made her miss her more, made her wish she could be calmer, more settled. She didn't want to be the slut, because well....
You know, she couldn't think of a reason. The longer and longer she was alone, the more and more she lost her understanding of why she behaved at all, why she did the things she did and didnt do the things she wanted to do. But regardless of her mental turmoil, she had decided to do a little event for the school, no real reason other than she had grown used to throwing a party for her birthday, and if anything, she did enjoy a bit of normality in her routine when everything else was all topsy turvy in every other aspect.
So, she had sent out fliers, and she had made all the arrangements, gotten herself a sexy costume that she felt was surprisingly ironic given the life she had led. Her auburn locks twisted up and falling down around her head in ringlets, her make-up done to accentuate her eyes (as always) and those black leather cuffs laced up about her wrists.
As for the setting, the choice of venue for her party, well that was easy. It was Halloween, when everyone seemed to be so damn infatuated with dead things, and so, what better place to have it than an old cemetery which rested on the outside of the city. Okay, so maybe it was not the most legal of activities, and perhaps she had been forced to pay the dj a bit extra just to get him to play here, well, extra and promises of sex that would never come, but the point was...it was scary.
Hell, she had saved a ton on decorations, considering most of the usual Halloween decor was already provided, free of charge. All she had to do, was provide some eerie lamp light to surround an area big enough to be called a dance floor, and set up some refreshments and other various odds and ends. Now, it looked like a really extravagant dance set up, complete with a large tent over the selected "party" area.
Now, you may be wondering where she got a place like this, since most cemeteries were packed to the brim with dead people. Well, this place was just a little off the beaten path, in fact, it was quite a bit off the path...she had to include a map in the invites. But, it was fitting, and the fact that there was a creepy forest to the north, a dirt road to the east and a lake on the other side of the woods, complete with campgrounds, it was about as perfect as one could possible make it.
Needless to say, she was pleased. Now, it was just a matter of waiting for her guests to arrive, and to see how the nights events went. Because if anything was learned over all these years, it was that if you put these kids together for a night of fun, they fucked it up, every damn time.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
OOC: Okay, the quest is set in a cemetery. There are woods to the north, which surround most of it. Dirt road to the east which you enter on and park in, etc. Through the woods, there is a campground and a lake, and you are about five miles from the main highway. Everything is pretty grown over, and everything is pretty run down making it look that much more creepy.
The only requirement, is that you wear a costume and that you understand this will be posted to about every 24 hours. So, if you don't post up, you surrender to slight GM'ing. Once everyone has posted their openers, I will start to move things along.
Keep in mind that this is a dance as well, not JUST a quest, so have fun with it!
Azura had never really been to a party, in fact, she had to research Halloween just to see what kind of party she should be expecting. Of course, the moment she saw that it was costume required, she almost decided not to go. After all, most of the costumes she found online, or that the people in the lab suggested she wear, were well...a bit too revealing. It was bad enough that she had her cheerleading outfit that she had to wear almost every day of the week for practice, or that she had to perform in it in front of way too many people, but now this.
But the moment she had been told that she had to go, she realized that she didn't really have a choice in the matter. The thought making her stomach turn, as she spent days scrolling through different online stores, trying her best to find something that fit....her. Not an easy task, since she wasn't as free with her body as most girls in the school seemed to be.
However, she had found something, eventually, and though it was nothing fancy, she supposed that if she allowed her wings to come forth, and if she fixed her makeup and hair up nicely enough, she could turn it into a dark angel sort of thing. So, that is what she did.
Now, here she was, getting dropped off by one of the nurses from the lab in front of the cemetery that the party was being held at. Something about the place made her feel uneasy, though it was likely due to the fact that she was not very fond of the darkness, nor of the idea of death surrounding her. Yet, she tried her best to just brush those uneasy feelings aside and focus on the night ahead. Besides, she was sure that once people started showing up, she would feel more out of place than anything due to the fact that she felt as though her costume was going to be looked upon poorly.
She just supposed, that with the girls all around her, probably wearing something a little more...flashy...she would be that silly, pathetic girl that they all believed her to be. Even if she thought, sort of, that she looked pretty. Her long flowing dress, the fact that for once she could have her wings free and not have people know that they were a part of her, and the fact that she had her red locks pinned up in a pretty array of curls and twists.
A deep breath, she would smooth her hands over her dress and then slowly make her way toward the area that was lit up with lanterns and that had a tent set up over it. At least she wasn't the first one here, though she might as well have been, seeing as how half the people here really didn't like her all that much. So, in true Azura fashion, she would slink herself off to the side to observe, remaining out of the way and trying hard to shake that weird feeling that was closing in around her.
EEEEE!!
HALLOWEEN!!
You could say that it was one of Jacelyn's favorite times of the year, okay, it WAS her favorite time of the year. Why? Because it was the one time of year she could wear her kitty ears, or whatever the hell else she wanted and not be looked at like the freak that she truly was. Well, maybe not freak, but definitely a bit of a dork.
However, as she pulled onto the dirt road, finding the spot of the dance easily enough, she couldn't help but giggle herself in amusement at how out of character she looked. She could pretty much bet, that everyone who knew her, was going to be expecting a full blow kitty costume...but Jace was never predictable, and when she had been scanning through kitty costumes online (because duh! it was her first choice) she had found something ten times cuter and ten times more fun. (If such a thing was possible.) A sexy pink bear!
It was one of those costumes that had just screamed her name when she saw it in the store that day she went to check out the new kitty ears they had in stock. She loved it, soooooo much, and so she had bought it. Now, she was thrilled with how it looked, especially that lavender wig that spilled from beneath her hood and down along her chest.
Pulling the car into park, she would climb out, adjusting her hood so that it fit correctly and then making sure to lock her car before bouncing off toward the area in which the dance was set up. Of course, as she moved, her hips had that sultry little sway to them, sauntering back and forth with that perky, bubbly little bounce in her step. She was in a great, fun, fantastic mood and she was going to make the best of this holiday party/birthday party....even if it was set in a place that screamed bad horror movie!
Halloween. Although the last time Kazuya had attended a Halloween dance was in his last year of high school, 14 years ago, he didn't see any harm in attending this one, especially as it was organized by his pseudo little sister and the Superintendent, Kevala. Pulling into the parking area in his car, Kazuya, along with Ryu, would climb out of the car, and father and son would make their way towards the tented area lit up by lamps. The two of them soon going their separate ways upon reaching the dance area, Kazuya would look around, seeing if he spotted anyone familiar. His first Halloween dance since graduating from high school, Kazuya decided to dress up as Ryu Hayabusa from the Ninja Gaiden and the Dead or Alive series, or simply put, he was dressed up as a ninja, end of story. Looking around, he would see a familiar face, costume and all, though she probably wouldn't recognize him, seeing as only his eyes were visible, and besides, it was pretty dark, even with the lit lamps. "... I must say, you've done a excellent job with this dance, my Dark Princess..."A voice would suddenly speak up lowly from behind Kevala, if she turned around, she would see Kazuya behind her, like he had come out of nowhere almost. His black armor and armguards he wore blending in perfectly with the shadows, rendering him almost invisible, like a ninja one could say, although it was hard to see, if Kevala looked closely enough, she could see the faint outline of a smirk tugging at the corners of Kazuya's mouth.
Halloween. Ryu wasn't exactly Mr. Social Butterfly, but since he had gone to the Halloween dance back at his old junior high chool, he didn't see the harm in attending the one here at Public High School #8011. This year, he dressed up as Ryuji Danma from Great Teacher Onizuka 2012. Entering into the cemetery along the dirt road, Ryu would climb out of his father's car and waiti for him before the two of them headed towards the tented area lit up by lamps. Upon reaching the dance area, they would go their separate ways , Ryu looking around and trying to see if he recognized anyone. Deciding to be a wallflower this time, Ryu picked a spot at a tree located near the table close to one of the poles of the tent, and leaned up against it, the black school uniform he wore blending in perfectly with the darkness in the dance area. The baseball bat he had brought with him resting lightly along the top of his shoulders, glancing over at the crowd gathered in the tent area, Ryu kept to himself, for the most part.
Halloween, a holiday that Legion didn't quite understand. A holiday where people wanted to get scared, where as the other 364 nights of the year they generally tried to avoid that stuff. It really didn't make much sense to him to be honest. But, whatever, it was what it was. Humanity didn't really make too much sense so he figured, why try and understand it? Just go with the flow... of blood out their bodies. But in all seriousness Legion was just biding his time, acting somewhat similar to everyone else. Because after all he was supposed to be a student. Which was why he was here really. More "blending in", "observation" all of that good stuff. And so he had gotten out of his brand new, at least to him, pickup truck, another one he had borrowed and made his way to the dance floor, adjusting his costume's mask. A repetitive action to rinse and repeat, giving him something to do instead of want to cut loose. Which he knew he couldn't even if Azura wasn't here. A shame really, but that was that. He was sure that with halloween he could figure out something to do. Something fun, besides he was in a mask and people wanted to be scared on halloween right?
Halloween.
Now this, this was a celebration Cain actually enjoyed. No, trick or treating wasn't it. Scaring kids wasn't it either. Alas, it was the school parties that he enjoyed most. It was a fun game for the analytical individual to look into someone's costumes and read into them, for even if you tried to dress into someone else, one's preference in appearance would always affect the chosen costume. Plus, he'd try to guess who the masked men were too. That was always entertaining for him. Of course, he had been to Halloween parties before, having participated in such in his past schools. His attires always varied, but for this year, he thought of doing something a little bit different.
He was going to get into character as one of his favourite comic book heroes. Well, hero was a subjective term for this particular character.
Cain paced up the dirt path, his right hand coming up to adjust the neck of his mask, placing it over the collar of his body suit so as to not irritate the skin of his neck. It was a full body overall, covering every single ounce of his skin. The eyes were white, but carried enough holes, though visible from the outside, for the wearer to see.
He had gone quite all out for this particular celebration, even going as far as making plastic blades in replacement for the katanas, and purchasing toy guns, before painting them black. He smirked behind his mask, the creases on said article displaying it for any curious eyes, and soon enough, he arrived at the party. He swung both arms outwards, as he stood at the entrance of the celebration's main body. "Ah, this is what you call a halloween party!" His eyes would wander sidewards, coming upon the nearest tomb stone to him, and he chuckled softly, crossing his arms over his chest.
"Interesting choice of place, hmm?"
Oh, what did he dress up as? Why, who else? Deadpool.
Halloween. Or All Hallow's Eve, if you wanted to go with the name used in ancient times. Although Elijah wasn't the biggest fan of the event, he still enjoyed hanging out with his friends and every once in a while, go trick-or-treating, for old times sake, or for the hell of it, or both. This year however, Eli, along with his buddies, were going to the dance the Superintendent had organized, and at a cemetery, no less. Pulling up into the parking area in his car, Eli would climb out and head towards the tented area lit up by lamps. This year, he was dressed up as Captain Kirk from Star Trek. Reaching the tented area, he'd look around, seeing if he recognized anyone, but aside from Azura, he honestly didn't known anyone else here. Still, he wasn't going to complain. Halloween was the single best event, in his opinion, because he got to scare people for fun. This was going to be one hell of a party.
Oouff.This was beginning to be a repetitious cycle as Sapphira was bent over, face buried in a layer of dirt with her hands prodding the foot mark in her rear end as a layer of the dust cloud emerging from the back of a retreating hummer pulling off the dirt road. In its driver seat window the pale, blond haired girl with features plastered to the window responded with a blood curdling cackle. Saph managed to furrow her brows in irritation jutting upwards a shaking fist of promised vengeance although meekly falling short knowing she was never going to get around to it be it through distractions or simply losing interest. Anyways back to the party. Getting upright to dust herself off Sapphira found what was missing to her garb, more of less forced into a costume the girl gathered up what looked best on her. Fitting her past occupation Sapphira wiggled her way into a female's mafia boss with matching Tommy-gun. Her own twisted little grin as she posed innocently, alone on the dirt road before making her way to the party/dance/whatever. It wasn't until she got close enough that she'd begun to realize this wasn't at all what she'd expected. Tombstones, gnarly gates, and disheveled dirt. This was a graveyard. "EEEEEKKKK!!!" She'd bound upwards managing to strike her head on a nearby branch leveling herself to the floor once more finding her rump dusted with the layer of filth settling there.
With a sigh, Rick drove up to the cemetery in his jeep, finding a place to park a short ways outside. He kept the vehicle hidden off from the side of the road, since he was relatively sure this little soiree Kevala was throwing wasn't exactly on the right side of the legal world. He shook his head and shrugged, mostly to himself more than anyone else, and hopped out of the vehicle, grabbing the hat that completed his costume on his way out. He hadn't been asked to show, but he assumed it would be for the best. Parties needed a bit of adult supervision, and from what he'd gathered, Kevala and Jacelyn were both going to be in attendance, and neither of them stood out to Rick as particularly adult-like. The thought brought a smirk to his face as he walked into the cemetery proper, eyes scanning over everyone present, putting names to costumes for those he could recognize, and keeping special attention on those he could not. He doffed the hat and tipped it a little lower upon his head, clasping his hands in front of him as he stood for a while, hovering around the edges and doing well just to watch. However, it wasn't long before a mood struck him, and he moved to the refreshment table, still going around the edges of the grounds instead of crossing directly through, to grab a cookie and put it in his mouth, chewing thoughtfully. Oh yeah, as for his costume? Rick Monoghan was currently dressed up as the Great, Fabled Walker, Texas Ranger.
I never very much understood this holiday. Gabriel thought to himself silently musing at the back of his private limo Cael positioned on the opposite facing seat thumbing at the lapels on his coat. The boy sought fit to dress up as something like a new-age/hybrid vampire thing. Rolling his eyes Gabriel managed to ignore the cynicism to the concept of this all hallows eve. From his understanding it was either kids stuffing their faces with candy or just an excuse to whore yourself out.
A silent tsk as the car met its stop and they both strode out. Cael was sure that each of his steps were in line with his father each standing at the same height although Gabriel appearing a head taller simply due to those years of confident strides he needed to perform in a school full of bandits and misfits. Gabriel didn't dress up to this event but he didn't look too dissimilar from Cael's garb, a black, long pea-coat hulking over a primed suit. It was always about looking your best as a Seran, something else to fit the stereotype.
Gabriel would stop just short of the pair he recognized, through narrow slits he'd make out Kazuya and Kevala snickering to himself quietly before turning to Cael.
"Do stay in line."
A wry grin on his features before tactfully turning about ready to make an exit lest he be stopped. As for Cael, the boy simply flitted his cane and pitched about towards where Azura was calm, precise, ready to be out of his father's gaze.
She had to admit, more people had showed up than she thought, but then...this was a party, offering free music, food and a night away from the city. Who wouldn't show up? Her mind playing over that as she eyed each and every student that made their way to the dance. That little mental game of "omg that's so funny" being played between herself and the demon within over the various outfits that had been chosen.
The sound of shuffling behind her drawing her attention back toward the person now approaching and her lips pursing slightly. She could only see the eyes, but honestly she would have had to be an idiot not to know who it was. "Ah, Kazy-pooh, lovely to see you. It is nice to see you went with the most cliche costume you could find." She bowed her head slightly, knowing he was smirking, because well...that was all he did.
Yet as her head lifted a slight chill would run down her spine, causing her shudder slightly and her shoulders to straighten just slightly. A glance over her shoulder confirming what she already knew....Gabriel. "Fuck my life..." Icy hues scanning over his feature as she tilted her head just slightly, becoming oh so distracted as her hand came forth and softly grasp that of Kazuya, drawing his attention toward Gabriel with a little grin settling upon her lips. "Take notes Kazy-pooh...that is what sexy really looks like..." Her breath a bit shaky as she would release her pseudo big brother's shoulder and glide easily enough away from him and toward where Gabriel was turning to make his exit.
One little arm smoothly lacing through his own as she came up along side you. "Really? You just had to show up at my party and put every other man to shame didn't you?" Arching her brow slightly before sliding herself around in front of him and walking backwards, knowing that bringing him to a stop was never as easy as one might think. "You could at least say hi you know?" Grinning teasingly.
Meanwhile, a deep, low moaning sound would be heard by Sapphira from her current position upon the ground. The direction it came from suggested it was somewhere within the thick of the woods surrounding them, yet it was very hard to pinpoint where exactly. Maybe if she hadn't smacked herself in the head, it would be easier.
As for the rest, there would be a low rustling within the brush here and there, but with the breeze that was currently blowing through the area, it would be hard to decipher if it was anything but the sounds of nature.
She was late, though to be fair, it was not entirely her fault. She had every intention of appearing here on time, but then she had to convince her Mom that it was really what she wanted, and she had to convince her that she would be fine. Not something that was easy to do, especially when the woman was clinging to her arm giving her "that look". It was like a nightmare that would not end. Yet, somehow or another, she had convinced her Mom to let her go, and she had gotten in the car with Beth so that she could catch a ride to the party.
Of course, they had to make one single stop along the way. Emma had to change costumes, and she wasn't about to do that at the party. Why, you might ask? Well, it was simple. If her parents saw the costume that she had really wanted to wear to the party, they would have thrown a bitch fit. So, she had bought two. One, a very reserved, conservative style dress...some witch or something or other...and then the one that she now wore.
Now, something that should be known about Emma, was that she didn't dress in something sexy to try and get boys' attention. No, she was pretty much convinced that no boy would ever give her the time of day, so she didn't sit and really plan out her evening around something like that. Instead, she dressed in something sexy, because of that little voice in the back of her head that reminded her just how much it would piss her parents off. That was the one, and only reason.
Watching the rapid movement of Beth's hands as she went on and on about how pretty Emma looked, the girl couldn't help but blush. Sure, she liked the compliments, but she knew that it was probably just mindless dribble coming from the girl who had appointed herself Emma's "keeper"...or so it seemed.
Pulling up to the dance, she would shudder slightly, emerald green hues scanning over the party set up as a little grin curled upon her lips. This was going to be soooo much fun, she could already tell, and though Beth was tugging on her arm, clearly in a hurry to get to the party, she couldn't hep but take her time.
However, no sooner had she gotten out of the car than she felt an arm wrap around her own and begin tugging her along. Oh, this was by far going to be the biggest headache of the night, 'listening' to Beth prattle on about who was who of the school social society. But, small price to pay for a night of complete and utter freedom. [/blockquote]
Aryanna was sort of listening to the girl beside her as she turned down the old, dusty dirt road that led to the area of the party. Well okay, she hadn't heard a single word since the girl got in the car over an hour ago, and she had no real intention of listening to her any time soon. But if there was one thing that Aryanna knew how to do, it was pretend that she was paying attention.
"Do you think Mitch will be there tonight?" Her tongue flicking across her lips as she interrupted the girl mid sentence to pose her question, a glance of purplish pink eyes toward her as "friend" as she tapped one pefectly polished little fingernail against the steering wheel.
"Oh I am sure he will be! How could he not!? You did make a point of telling him you hoped to see him there." The blond beaming with a sense of optimism that Ary herself just couldn't seem to find the stomach for. Though she did have a very valid point. How could he not?
"I suppose." Shrugging her shoulders slightly as she pulled her car into the parking area or well, in line with the other vehicles, giving a rather unhappy little pout as she eyed the distance between where she had parked and the area where the lights were, signifying where the party itself was. "I hate it when I am late..." Muttering slightly as she reached down to undo her shoes, reaching into the back seat to grab up her sneakers out of her gym bag and slipping them on.
Next thing Jenny, her little blond companion for the evening, would know, she would have a pair of white high heels shoved into her arms. "Carry those. I don't want to ruin them before I even get there." No room to really argue, though the girl did start, her mouth opening in a form of silent protest. Though before any words could escape that gaping hole of her's a very threatening glare from Aryanna would silence her.
Only then would the little angel make her way out of the car and toward the party, her hand idly flipping her raven locks about as she sauntered down the dirt pathway toward the area of lights and music. Behind her, if only just, she could hear the shuffling of feet and some more nonsense being babbled her way, though all she really did was roll her eyes and keep moving. Finally, after what had seemed like forever, they would arrive, her hand reaching out and a quick snap of her fingers bringing her shoes into her grasp. Using the blonde, she would lean against her for support to change out her shoes and then hand her the keys and her sneakers. "There, take those back to the car. I am going to look for Mitch." She nodded and would then saunter off, not really looking to see if the girl complied...since it was beyond her area of comprehension to think that she wouldn't.
She was out of place. Right? Right. She wasn't dressed right. Perhaps a bit too conservative. Perhaps too much leg showing. She honestly had no clue, but left with nothing but her thoughts, she of course went about second guessing herself like crazy...a knot forming in her stomach as she felt like she was going to be sick. She had never, ever been to something like this, and just the thought of how much she must stand out had her wanting to puke. Thank God she had better control over herself than to allow that.
A few moments passing with her little hands tugging at her dress, before a sudden sense would wash over her, causing her to shiver slightly. Legion. Her eyes instantly turning upward to look in his direction, noting his attire and smirking slightly to herself. He seemed to fit in much better than herself, though that was probably because he had done this sort of thing before...even if he didn't remember.
A single step taken in his direction, she felt a little more ease washing over her. She could do this. Honestly, how hard could it be? He was here, so if she got into a bit of a sticky situation he would bail her out, right? Right. Giving herself a firm little nod as she drew in a deep breath and made up her mind to head over to him.
However, that single step was as far as she would get before eyes fell upon a very familiar figure entering with who she could only assume to be his Father. Whatever self confidence she had began to wane as she felt the color fade from every part of her body and rush to her cheeks, making her heart race just a bit and her stomach do that stupid....butterfly thing.
He wasn't going to notice her. Nope. He was just going to pick out some hot little number to ....
Oh my God! Why is he coming over here!?
Her cheeks burning a bit hotter now as she fumbled her hands over the front of her dress, pretending to be messing with its adornments, though in all honesty she was trying, in vain, to stop her stomach from doing that stupid fluttery thing it did any time she got near him. Ugh...
Yet, as smoothly as ever she would put that smile on her face and slowly advance forward, coming closer to Cael as she did so and giving a slight, welcoming bow of her head. "Not that you need me to tell you this...But you look amazing." Yep, she was calm, cool and collected...Well save for the deep red blush on her porcelain cheeks and the way her eyes shimmered with.....happiness? Who knew.
Of course, in the back of her mind was the whole "I really should apologize for the other night." and the counter which was all about "To hell with that! Asshole deserved it!" So...for now, she just let her words remain as they were, not adding anything to them, at least not yet. Though perhaps what stopped her, more than her inability to decide on what the right thing to do was, was the fact that from behind her, within the trees, she heard a shaky, rustling within the branches and leaves.
Her eyes glancing back over her shoulder, she couldn't help but take a step closer to Cael, out of ...well..okay...fear. She wasn't used to this kind of thing and it was far more creepy than anything she had read online about Halloween. A small shudder running down her spine before she would accidentally collide with the boy before her and her attention instantly draw itself back to him. "Umm...S..Sorry." A little smile again curling onto her features, though she would soon have to remind herself to breath as her lungs began to burn rather heavily.
Oh yeah, tonight was going to be a long night.
