Raining. Dark skies cast overhead and a disparaging sort of rain soaking his cloth. It wasn't as though Cael could go home after what he'd done, while his father hadn't exactly been the warmest sort to the Badoer family this blatant outright measure of opposition wouldn't go unquestioned. Much less his mind frame wasn't entirely solid, after being branded he didn't exactly know who he was. How could somebody get away with something like that something so cruel so demeaning, his pride had been stolen from him. Nothing but malice ran through his veins and hatred in his heart.
Sitting against a brick wall Cael found the slack in his body drop on him, the weight grow all the more intense and so would the rest of his body droop to meet the weight. Soggy facade, drenched hood the boy would dip his head between his legs and sob momentarily.
Downtown was such a frigid place, if it wasn't for the rampant amount of homeless Cael would be picked up instantly and sent to prison however tucked in with a heavy drench coat and buried deep within the corner of an alleyway he presumed himself essentially beyond capture. For the time being he simply needed to catch up on his rest, sleep, recuperate. As it were plans with Patrick and a number of other pawns were already set in place freedom was at stake after all. It was simply a matter of staying out of the way that remained all the more present. A light sigh as the homeless Seran buried his head once again between his legs breathing softly trying to resign to sleep. From what he could tell he'd managed to make it out from the school unfollowed but what did he know. Preparation was everything and he'd done all that he could to evade capture.

"Hey there pretty lady? How about you come over here and I--" The words of one of the vagrants that frequented this area being cut short, turned into a distinct groan as he doubled over and collapsed to his knees there at the entrance to that alleyway. A few heavy, sputtered breaths the only sounds which would be heard from him as his arm wrapped about his midsection and the other pressed hard against the cement to try and keep himself upright.
"Do not touch me." That familiar Southern accent sounding out from directly in front of the man as the toe of her boot would nudge the fellow in the chest just hard enough to send him toppling over and onto his side. Her nose wrinkling just slightly as he landed within a grimy hole of water and proceeded to splash the filth upon her shoes. "Ugh...disgusting."
A soft sigh released from her lips before she would turn, stepping over him, and make her way down the now deserted alley and toward her intended target. She said nothing, since for now, there was nothing really to say. She wasn't here to berate Cael for fucking shit up at her school, nor was she here to shower him with sympathy...Sure, perhaps it was something akin to concern that had guided her to this point...but for her to actually admit to such would have been a stretch.
No, she would simply make her way to where he currently sat, taking up a spot along the opposite wall, and then sliding down to sit in a manner which somewhat mocked his own position, her knees drawn up..her arms resting atop of them and her head laid back against the cold, wet brick wall.
"Hey handsome...Fancy meeting you here." Her tone coming forth in a soft enough manner, no hint of anger or ill intent in her words. Just a simple greeting and nothing more.
She too was soaked...her jeans and tank top plastered to her petite, tiny form and her dark locks stuck to her neck and face as the rain rolled down her olive complected flesh. Yet, for the time being, she showed no real concern about any of this, and instead kept those icy hues trained upon the figure in front of her.

To be honest Cael twitched a little, he'd expected getting caught at one point or another, he expected mother or father to find him first but not quite so soon or even by Kevala. Guess he hadn't exactly covered his trails as best as he could have given the circumstances. It didn't change a single thing of course. All of his plans tended to be infallible that even if one failed to succeed there would be three or four others to replace it.
Cael didn't shift or move to abruptly change the situation however resigned to his composure. Too tired, too stressed to really have to put up with the same ball and chain that came with Kevala's little exchanges. His eyes narrowed into slitted hues studious to take to the area noting that she hadn't brought Carmine nor any other security for that matter meaning she felt capable of dealing with him in her own fashion.
Big mistake.
With a swift pivot Cael would wrench around catching her up with his left palm around her neck and snap her against the wall with a hard thrust entirely upright now staring her down.
"Why did you follow me?" Not so much pissed as truly curious.

Capable of handling him? No, she was not that stupid. She just knew that bringing Carmine or any of her other security would have likely caused this to go much worse than it was already likely to. Her tongue slowly caressing her lower lip, she would flinch ever so slightly as she felt his hand snap about her neck, slamming her into the wall which she had chosen to press up against.
As his question came, she would give a slight cough, her air being restricted, if just slightly, by the grip that he now held about her slender throat. "I wanted to make sure that you were alright. Is that a crime?" No sarcasm in her tone, and no attempt at playing her little word games that she did so love to play. Even she was capable of understanding that there was a time and a place for such things, and that now was neither of those.
Her small hands would rest flat against the side of the building, and though she knew that she could attempt to pry his grip away, she knew that there was really no point. Besides, for the time being, she had not come here to fight with him. She was genuine in what she had said. She had come to check on him and nothing more. Though it was up to him to believe her or not, though she had hoped that she had made it clear she was not a fan of lying....just...stretching the truth about as far as was humanly possible at times. Which, by the way, was not the case in this instant.
"I thought perhaps it would be better if it was me than your Father or somebody else. Though Gods know I have been wrong in the past." Another slight cough, as she shifted her head a bit, more from the uncomfortable feeling of his grip and the cold brick wall than any real attempt to escape.

Cael's hesitated, his grip slackening for a moment and by no measure would this be unnoticeable to her, in fact the moment would drag on. Within Cael's head he struggled with the reasons that anyone would in fact care for him, that anyone would very much come looking. His hues narrowed slowly, his grip leaning off her through and body falling aside to a slump finding its way against the opposite wall and dragging against it until he found himself limply sagging aground managing only to keep upright against the wall.
"This isn't me.. I."
Hst.
He bit his lip and fought the need to cry eyes balling up and fists clenched in tight resisting the strangling urge, the bond of vines running up his throat choking him off. That confident exposure falling short and everything stringing together like a trainwreck.

She felt the slight hesitation in his grip, even felt it slackening if just a fraction...yet it remained very present upon her throat as she would remain there pinned against the wall without any real means of escape other than to attack him. Not something she was willing to do, not to him at least...or at least not right now. Eventually though, he would release her, allowing her to settle into her stance as he stumbled back against the wall.
His words, however few there were, would cause her brow to furrow slightly and yet for a long moment she would remain silent with her hands staying pressed flat against the wall. Icy gaze following his every movement, it would have been a lie to say that she did not wish, in some small part of her...to reach out for him as she watched him so close to breaking. Yet, she would not...her fingers instead curling to ball into fists, nails softly dragging against the brick behind her.
"When he was done with me...I could not even remember my own name." Her tone was softer this time, and edged with something though given how good she was at sealing away her emotions, it was almost impossible to tell if it was just understanding, or perhaps a bit of fear as well. "Nor could I remember where I was born or anything about who I was."
For now, staying against her own wall, though inching her way closer in regards to standing directly in front of his current position...If only to get a better look at him as she spoke. That usual facade of cold, calculating and empty which usually came from her pushed to the wayside for now as she looked at him with eyes that for once, held a hint of actual emotion within them.

Cael was not Kevala, he was not Patrick, he was not Aryanna. That was a defining principle of this conversation from here on out, from his experiences with the doctor. But nonetheless was he changed in the end. Not himself. Not the same ever again, the high born showboat controlled simply by speculation of others, some power that hierarchy controlled him no there was something different in his capture that defined him and made him different particularly that...
"I wanted to be changed."
He could admit it if only just now, his features turning down in desperation somber look on his face not entirely getting exactly what he'd wanted out of the entire exchange. Or maybe it was the actions after that? No it was all becoming more and more a blur now, the darker half making him indecisive, his decisions all up to debate.
"I can't go home.. not after this... not after what I'm about to do."
His somber features couldn't look her in the eye. Sure he'd heard stories here and there but he somewhat revered Kevala in one way or another. Maybe pitied her a little bit for having to put up with his father but he was truly indecisive when it came to having to deal with people now.
"...at least til its done."

She would nod a bit, a sort of understanding and in a way, not. She knew what she took from his words and how they related to some of her own feelings, but she had spent so much of her own life dealing with people who thought they understood what she had gone through to understand that nobody ever could, and so she wasn't trying to pretend in such...though perhaps she failed in portraying that properly. Heaven's knew it would not be the first time.
"I can understand that, in my own way I suppose. Being around your Father for any extended period of time causes a person to want to be changed. To be more than what they are. Or at least, that is what it was for me. Still is I suppose." She shrugged, finally daring to take a step forward, and slowly reaching out to brush the back of her fingers against his cheek before lightly grasping his chin and daring to try and turn his gaze toward her own.
"I probably should ask what you are up to, but I don't think that very much matters at this point in time." A slight shrug given as she would inch a bit closer, attempting to stand in front of him now though careful...not so much for her own sake but just as not to really upset him more than he already was.
"You could come stay with me if you like? I mean, its nothing compared to what your parents have, I admit that much, but its a house...and its empty...well save for myself." A light shrug as she would slowly tilt her head to the side, keeping her eyes upon his own as her hand would fall away from him. If anything, she highly doubted he wanted her touching him right this moment.

Her grip would prove to lift him slightly however his eyes managing to dart away and soon a small drift of the grip against his chin however weak the attempt may have been. Cael's facade mostly weak at this point it was clear that the boy hadn't slept much in a good long while, his body looked exasperated, his limbs frail and lips parched. The entirety of his body seemed to have gone through a bit of stress. Maybe a fair share more than simply just stress.
"I don't need you pity."
Still a bit more stubborn but too weak to really resist any actual pressure as heavy breaths seemed to signify, his torso heaving to the side as though without that attempted grip form her he might even fall over into a puddle of muck beside him. And without fail he'd start to fall, if she didnt stop it Cael would full out collapse into the wet pool beside him.

Normally, she would allow whoever it was to fall. Well save for a select few that she truly did hold some form of caring for. But as he began to fall, one arm would shoot around him, so that she could catch him, holding her weight against her own as she would slide her foot outward to better balance herself. It wasn't exactly easy, given the fact that he was larger than herself in both height and weight, but she managed well enough. Slowly shifting him so that she could press his shoulders into the wall, using both hands now to hold him upright as well as pressing her own body against his to pin him there. In no way a threatening gesture, just not about to let him land face first in a pile of Gods knew what that littered this disgusting alleyway.
"Pity?"
She practically scoffed at the idea. She did not do pity. It was not something she wanted for herself and it was damn sure not something she would give to anyone. Least of all Cael Seran. "I do not pity you Cael, but I do....." It was her turn to look away, debating on if she really wanted to finish this sentence or not. ".....care...for you and I won't have you out here in this filth when I have a perfectly empty house you can rest up in."
Perhaps not something that most would find hard to say, but for her it was like trying to pull teeth to get her to admit something like that. The real worry would have been if it was easy for her to say those words aloud. Either way, she would bring her eyes back up to meet his own, serious look held within her blue gaze as her hand left his body to come up and lightly cup his cheek. "Cael, please. I am not asking for you, but for me. I would feel much better if you were with me." A fleeting look of genuine .....affection...or something similar flashing across her gaze, though it was gone an instant later and replaced by something more akin to what people expected to see when they looked at Kevala.

Too tired really to combat the gesture at all or really even realize if it were hostile or otherwise, they were simply a pair of hands, a gift if you will holding him from going astray. His eyes teetering off the verge looking to her finally but having that glazed over expression looking, yonder, further past even her and wavering around the ally as everything lit up and yet remained darkened all the same. Things would not change unless you made them so. His father made that expressfully clear. Cael Seran had to change them with his own might.
A quick flash of him over a single body, the man that'd hurt his daughter. Cael standing there with bloodied palms his stature entirely innocent but the rest of the family huddled in the corner looking at him as though he had guns to their head. What? Whats wrong? M-M-Monster.
"Help...me."
That glazed over expression would still be there but he'd comply with her gestures, with whatever movements Kevala suggested.

Somewhere inside of her, the part that she had long ago isolated and locked away, stirred to life and felt torn by the look in his eyes when he finally bothered to turn them in her direction. She knew that look, having seen it a million times in the past, every time she looked into her own reflection. Every time she saw herself while she had been locked away, and for at least a good year afterwards. Yet it was his words that would cause that pain to increase and tear through her, even if there was no outward sign of it upon her face.
She had simply spent too many years learning to lock every single part of her away that gave a damn about anyone or anything other than herself and those closest to her, and even they had been shut out at some point or another. However, she would nod, her fingers which rested upon his cheek shifting to lightly caress his cold flesh as she would rise up on her tip toes and softly brush her lips against the opposite cheek. "That's why I am here handsome. Come on. Let's get you home."
Figuring that for as long as he wished to stick around, he could consider the place his home as well as her own. She didn't mind. After all, in her head, a house was just that...a house. Never having really had much but a few glimpses of what a "home" really was, she did not really attach any sentimental value to the word. Her arm moving to take his own, she would drape it around her shoulders, urging him away from the wall and hopefully down that alley and toward the area she had entered from.
Assuming she had no trouble, she would only have to help him a few more feet before they would reach the area where she had parked her SUV. Moving to lean him up against it so that she could pull open the door and get him inside and out of the rain and then hurrying around to her side in order to climb in and start it up.
Despite what anyone might have thought, she did realize that she was possibly getting herself into something she shouldn't be. But, as she pulled out of the area and back onto the main street leading toward her house, she would glance toward him and, somewhere inside of her fucked up head decide, that it was worth it.
