White sweater clinging to her petite frame, a simple pair of jeans and a pair of boots with a bit of fuzz around the tops. Nothing too remarkable about her clothing, and in reality, nothing too remarkable about Emma herself. Her strawberry blond locks cascading down around her face as she nudged her way out of the school exit and quickly ducked around the side of the building, taking comfort in the cold, isolated shadows cast by it during this less than sunshiny day. The clouds overhead speaking of rain to come, as did the breeze which whipped about and sent a chill down her spine, causing her to hunker down within her sweater all the more. Now, more than ever, she wished she had remembered to grab her jacket this morning. Yet with things still so out of whack at home, and with no real desire to go seek out Frank...er....her Dad...(the concept still rather unsettling) to try and borrow one, she just figured she would have to make due with what she had.
Encased in a world of silence, it was easy, once she was away from the rest of the students, to lose herself to what she had set out to do. Taking up a seat alongside the building and unzipping her bag so that she could pull out her history book in order to study for an upcoming test that she had. She wasn't very good at it, and needed all the work she could get. Sure, studying would have been just as easy for her inside, especially since she couldn't be distracted by sounds, that hearing device gone, smashed weeks ago...However the prospect of that surgery still loomed in the distance, and inside her stomach clenched at the thought.
A quick shake of her head stirring herself from such thoughts, she would open her book and draw her knees up so that it could rest at a slight inclination upon her thighs. The cold air causing her lower lip to tremble, though she was quick to bite upon it to keep it still, trying instead to focus. With everything going on lately within the school, she felt more comfort being outside...less likely to be trapped and confused should something happen...so, she would struggle through the chill and just keep her mind busy with the words printed upon the pages before her. Having yet to make any real friends, and finding herself more and more the loner as the days drug on endlessly. So different from everyone around her, and finding that to be the one thing she hated more than anything else.

The back side of the school was kind of a means to get away from everything, at least that's how Guy saw it, and probably a good portion of the student body for that matter. However today it would seem to be not so crowded Guy shrugging off the pent up anger that he needed to get out from just a few moments ago making to throw up those doors violently and fume outside them pacing with a hand veiling his features.
Moments prior a teacher had called him out in front of his fellow students seeking to make a model of him. Sure Guy wasn't spectacular at any one subject, he was a jack of all trades and while that had its advantages in this world being so multi talented left you so very weak in difficult topics. This happened to be one. A laughing class chasing him out onto the deck and pacing back and forth before casting his head back and having a breather. Moments would take their turn before casting his glance down to the silent girl.
"Oh.. sorry I didn't realize anyone was here." At first he wouldn't recognize her, it'd take a long second as he was never really competant at remembered anything for that matter, "Hey I remember you, you're that new girl right?" Um oh that's right she was deaf. Awkward.

At first she didn't really notice anyone there. She was busy trying to make sense of the stuff she was reading and even managing to give a little growl of frustration here and there as she flipped back and forth between the pages, trying to burn the words and the information into her mind. However eventually she would just happen to glance up and note a shadow that had not been there before, causing her to startle slightly as she snapped her book closed and looked up to see just who it was.
Being unable to hear made her a prime target to be picked on, and there were a select few who liked to do just that. Yet it only took a quick glance to note that it indeed wasn't one of them and instead that nice boy she had met the first day of school. His first words causing her brow to furrow as she tilted her head tried to get a better angle on what he was saying....Though when he fully turned toward her, that was when she would finally get an idea...nodding slightly as a little smile curled upon her lips...Hands lowering the book as she fished out that pad about her neck and jotted down her name real fast.
Emma
Glancing from him to the notepad and back, just to sort of drive the point home before writing his name out with a question mark.
Guy?
Not sure, at least 100% on the name, but she was pretty certain. Still, best to make sure before she had some sort of conversation with the guy and think him somebody else.

Haha yeah." Guy would respond a single hand trailing up to pat the back of his neck holding his body in a rather aloof and uncanny expression somewhat a bit thrown off that the girl managed to remember his name when he could hardly manage hers. Such a dumbass, if there was a way to slam his head against a nearby brick wall without drawing questions out of her he totally would. Making that typical wide bridged smirk Guy tried to put up a facade that he was totally unphased about the situation albeit rather thrown into this. He'd suspected that he'd have some alone time here and not really have to deal with people but instead he'd managed upon this sweet young thing.
"What brings you here."
Stupid
He inwardly hit himself for playing all the typical lines of idiocy he saw so many other popular sort like people delve into trying to get people to like them. Honestly Guy just wanted to run right now, berating himself constantly for being the fool in there and only succeeding in reproducing that very same problem here with a smaller audience.

Luckily for him, Emma didn't realize that he was playing the same lines other people used, because Emma, for the most part, was a rather sheltered and innocent young girl who's gift of silence allowed her to miss out on some of the idiocy of the world. So, when he spoke and as she read his words he would be met with a rather bright smile which lit up her eyes even in this darkened recess behind the school. However, as she dropped her notepad and reached to hold up her history text book, that smile would fade to something akin to a grimace. Shrugging slightly she would tap the book a few times, pretty sure he would get it before she would turn and drop it down onto the ground beside her.
Notepad brought back up, she would write out the words quickly enough....
I am not that good at it. Teacher makes fun of me and I am pretty sure everyone else does too.
She sighed and would give him time to read before she would lower the pad back down about her neck, allowing it to dangle over her chest. So badly she wanted to crawl into a hole and die for admitting that, and definitely she didn't want to have to look him in the eye...but she didn't have the luxury of keeping her head down in shame..not when her entire existence was built upon literally having to read other's through expressions and movements of hands and lips.
So, with a deep breath she would force her gaze upward and put that pretty little smile back on her lips before pointing to him in a silently inquisitive gesture to figure out why he was out here in the hide a way of the school. Or at least one of the many she had found thus far.

Guy watched patiently as she exposed her little secret or rather not so secret little redundancy. A smirk crossed his face due to the synchronicity to their issues and inwardly laughing to himself. Though it was of course no small issue as bullying in schools was one of the leading causes of suicide but lets not get started on a dark remark and return in fact to something entirely new. History, now that was something Guy could get into, sure he wasn't amazing at it but he was certainly better than just above average at noting a few things.
"Hey, you wanna get out of here? I can help you with that."
A confident, rather bloated ego as he pumped his chest out rather proud that he was good at history in any instance but more so this one in particular. "I'm kind of a history nerd, too much history channel as a kid."

The offer given toward her would cause the small girl to light up, quite brightly for that matter. The awkward, uncertain smile she had only moments before turning more genuine as she nodded and would shift to gather up her things and cram them back into her backpack. It was only once she had done this and stood, having slid the bag back onto her shoulder, that she would realize she was being a bit rude. Her cheeks flushing a bright shade of pink as she would fumble about trying to grab up her notepad and failing a bit as she found she had it backwards, and then realized she had not placed the pen back where it belonged...only forcing her to have to try and fumble for it now as well.
Eventually though, she would get it and quickly write out a short...
Thank you sooooo much..
Before turning her eyes up this with a bit of hopeful and innocent happiness. She hadn't really made any friends, and definitely didn't have anyone that wanted to try and help her. Most having written her off as retarded within the first few days. Teeth softly chewing upon her lower lip as she would hug her notepad to her chest, making sure this time to keep hold of the pen..not wanting to look like a total dweeb again. She figured she had done enough of that already and was fighting off hanging her head and sheer shame and embarrassment.
